The two-part harmony is lifted from a choral part that comes in midway through the Waltz of the Snowflakes in Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, my favorite musical moment of the ballet from childhood. In its original narrative context it is an expression of pure joy. Here, isolated from the orchestra, it sounds much different.
